Stephen Crane's war stories
"Red Badge of Courage" was Crane's first literary success and the public hailed him for more war stories. Crane felt cursed by the reputation, he had never experienced war personally, and he felt he had said all there was to say in that "damned Red Badge."
This is a collection of short stories that continues his war fiction, published a couple years after "RBC". The last very short story "Veteran" is probably the best of the bunch, it puts the hero of "Red Badge" to rest, so to speak.
